Welcome to Math4U Games and Activities Section
Communicating
Mathematical knowledge is the base of all activities and games
available on this page.
In this section we are looking for three main types of mathematical
communications:
-
Recognizing, understanding and using the correct mathematical notation
-
Creating, reading and using graphs, sketches, tables, diagrams etc. to give correct representation of the mathematical concept involved in the activity
-
Recognizing and using the correct mathematical terminology when describing or explaining a practical situation
All
activities are related to topics presented in the Tutorial section and linked to skills
practiced through out the Worksheets
and Practice Paper sections.
In this section, you'll enjoy challenging brain storming questions and
puzzles meant to reinforce thinking, organization and presentation
skills. All of the solutions have to be presented visually with a
special attention given to the appropriate work flow. Natural
progression of various practical situations will guide you through an
interesting and enjoyable journey in the world of Mathematics.
If you are using the activities at home, prepare for hours of challenge
and fun.
If you prefer to take some of them to the classroom remember that the
most important part for the students in here is to work independently.
Each part of an activity or game is selected to match different needs
and level of knowledge. Printing and posting in the class some of the
activities will help you create a supportive teaching and learning
environment and will quickly raise the class participation and interest
towards the subject.
